Mercy Before Direction

Tonight, I come to God tired, with unfinished work and concerns I cannot settle before morning. Psalm 143 reminds me to ask for His mercy before asking what to do next. I need direction, but I also need Him to tend to what these months of pressure have done within me.

Some of my concerns are justified. Yet I can feel how easily hurt becomes suspicion, how disappointment sharpens my words, and how fear makes me reach for control. I want to face what has happened honestly, including my own failures, without allowing bitterness to govern how I treat people.

Lord, let me rest tonight in Your faithful love. Forgive what needs forgiving, soften what has become hard, and help me carry my responsibilities without believing every outcome depends on me. Tomorrow, teach me to do Your will and let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
