My hope is not that everything will return to the way it was.
I hope some things can be repaired, but my hope has to rest on something stronger than improved circumstances. My hope is in Jesus Christ.
He is risen. Because He lives, loss, failure, financial pressure, aging, and even death do not have the final word.
That does not remove my responsibilities. I still need to face reality, admit mistakes, make hard decisions, repair what I can, and release what I cannot control.
Paul writes, “Therefore we do not lose heart.” Though the outer self is wasting away, the inner self is being renewed day by day.
That is what I need now: renewal within me while circumstances remain unsettled.
I do not know what the next chapter will look like, but I know who will be there.
Christ is risen.
Therefore, I do not lose heart.
