A Prayer to Number Our Days Saturday, October 17, 2026 — Psalm 90:12

Heavenly Father,

Tonight I come before You tired, grieving, and increasingly aware of how quickly the years pass. You have given me more years than many, and yet I realize how little control I have over the days that remain.

Lord, thank You for Karen’s life, for the years of friendship, fellowship, and shared memories. Comfort her family and all who loved her. Be near to Terry as he recovers from surgery. Grant him healing, strength, patience, and peace.

Father, another chapter of my own life has ended this week. The offices are closed, the work has moved home, and so much of what I once hoped to build has changed. I confess that I do not always understand what You are doing, and sometimes I struggle to accept what I cannot change.

Teach me to number my days, not in fear of death, but in the wisdom of living faithfully before You. Help me distinguish between what matters eternally and what I have allowed to consume my time, energy, and heart.

Forgive my sins, my misplaced priorities, my pride, and the times I have trusted my own understanding more than Your Word. Keep disappointment from hardening into bitterness and exhaustion from weakening my faith.

Lord Jesus, You are my hope, not my accomplishments, my business, my possessions, or even the years I have left. Whatever remains of my life, I want it to belong to You.

Tonight, help me lay down the burdens I cannot carry. Give me rest without guilt, peace without needing every answer, and faith to trust You with tomorrow.

And when my days are finally numbered, may I be found faithful, not because I accomplished everything I intended, but because I belonged to Jesus Christ.

In His precious name I pray. Amen.
